WHAT DOES 305 chess academy offer?
305 Chess Academy offers private, one-on-one chess lessons to all players, regardless of age, experience, and/or playing strength. Yes, you don’t even have to know the rules or how to pieces move to do a lesson!
Lesson rates are $25 per hour!
What is the teaching methodology?
I never thought that chess coaching was about the coach, I always believed that the student was the star. The student hires a coach to break down their game and help them improve. I take a student-based approach when coaching chess. I will analyze games played by the student, offer constructive feedback, followed by coming up with a structured lesson plan for future study and improvement. But if the student ever wants to learn or get insight into a particular chess topic that they feel is important, then we will cover it. I also take interest in my students’ daily lives, interests/hobbies outside of chess, and personalities, as creating a personal connection with the student reinforces improvement and builds a long-lasting, teacher-pupil relationship.

How are lessons conducted?
Lessons will be conducted online through Zoom. The coach (me!) and the student (you!) will be able to interact through a face-to-face video call and a virtual chess board.
Lessons will be very interactive and progressive in terms of learning new chess concepts and putting them into practice. It is just as beneficial as an in-person lesson!
Students who sign up and schedule a lesson will receive confirmation and reminder emails with a link to the Zoom meeting for the scheduled lesson.
